Steps To Make Your Week Productive

“Simplicity boils down to two steps: Identify the essential. Eliminate the rest.”- Leo Babauta, blogger

Are you the type of person who usually spend a lot of time on their mobile phones?

Is it hard for you to focus on one task because you badly want to use your mobile?

If the answer is YES, then this blog is the right one for you.

Everyone of us find it hard to do something especially now that the digital world is immensely growing. Just by using your phone, you’ll know what’ going on around you, you can simply enjoy yourself by playing online games and you can share anything that you want to on your social media accounts. Truly, there’s a lot of things that the digital network provided us. It improved our lifestyle and provided jobs for everyone. Together with its growing identity in the industry, it also affects life in an adverse manner. I know that we’d seen how the generation nowadays became into to social media to the point that it can be used to share negativity to others. In my personal experience, I’d seen how social media consumed most of my days. I can literally just stay on my bed and browse the whole day. I’m sure that everyone of us will be found guilty from it. It took me months to actually get rid of that habit and even until today, there are times that I still spend time on my social media. Because of this, I find it hard to be productive since I used to spend most of my time on my phone.

To share you what I did to get rid of my habits and manage my time well, this blog will be a step-by-step guide for you. After doing this, I’d seen how I improved my focus and at the same time became more motivated to choose productivity. I learned to value my time by means of planning my day so I can see how I’ll be able to spend it actively. Now, I always make sure that at the end of the day, there’s a task or priority that I finished. By keeping myself disciplined, it greatly helps me to follow the daily routines I set for myself. If you would ask me why I want to share to everyone, my answer would be, I don’t want you to end up regretting something that you failed to do. Sometimes, there will be no next time. So rather contemplating if we need to do a certain task, we need to have a proactive mindset. With all the things happening around the world, one can be easily let out from it. No one will wait for you to change. You need to take the first and act from it. The moment you realized how important your time is, that will be the beginning of your long journey to success.

Since before, I’d been watching interviews of people who are considered successful in their field. What I found common among them is their discipline. They keep getting things done because they already fixed their mindset on how they’ll do it. They have a great focus on things that they need to prioritize because for them, time should be use efficiently. Upon knowing that, I tried to do the same thing in order for me to have the right mindset. Especially now that I’m getting older, I need to do the things that will help me in the future. Some people may feel that these things doesn’t really mean at all because life should be enjoyed and not controlled. For me, I feel fulfilled every time I end the day with learnings and activities that develop myself. Not because you keep yourself busy, it doesn’t mean you are not enjoying it. As soon as you realized how valuable that task is in your life, you’ll feel more obligated to do it. Let’s just say, doing things for yourself will always give you positive feedback sooner or later.

Like for example, you’d been wanting to loss weight but you’re not motivated to do workout or diet. Our mind often wants something but failed to command our body to do something for it. That’s shows how important to fix how you think first in handling situations. A proactive approach plus effort will help you to achieve a productive day that you’d been wanting to have.

Now, here’s the step-by-step process that you can do starting today. Now that were about to start another year soon, you should take this chance to change your mindset for the better. This is the perfect time to set your goals and plan your day.

Let’s both make it happen!

Assess what’s your priorities for the week.

Why do you need to make assessment first things first?

By doing this, it will help you to know your current situations, concerns, challenges, wants and needs which you will need in making a plan or a routine. The best way for you to do this is to write down everything so you can make sure that you will not miss anything. Start it by doing the following: Checklist/Sample

In the example above, you can see the specific details of that person’s life together with his/her goal. As long as you acknowledge everything that may affect your plans, it will be easier for you to come up with strategies and plan in order to make it happen. After doing this, you can decide what’s your top priorities from all of those considering your current situations and challenges that you may encounter. Like what I keep stating on my blog about goals, you need to be more specific in making it. Once you’re done with it, that’s the only time you can set plans for it. If you don’t usually plan your day, there will be an adjustment that you need to undergo first. There will be time that you’ll fail but the important thing that you must do is to be consistent regardless of failing. You need to develop a habit and repetition plays a big role on that.

Think of new things that you want to incorporate in your day.

Being busy is different from being productive. Most of us thinks that just because we feel tired, our day can be defined as productive. Personal productivity consists of desired output from the time & efforts you put in a certain task. It should not make you feel tired and stress, but rather it should provide you a sense of accomplishment. In order for you to consider your day as productive, you should first love what you’re doing. Even if it’s a checklist of your task, work you need to finish, pending household chores that you need to do, any of it should not make you feel burden. You should feel determine or motivated to finish it so that you can move to the next task of the day.

Some people may feel demotivated to do the same thing over and over again. For you to divert you mind, you can simply incorporate new things to your daily routine. By doing this, it will make you feel excited and curious of its outcome. Some examples are:

You can add anything that you haven’t done yet. As long as it will make you feel delighted/excited to do, then incorporate it to your plan. You can also look for something that caught your interest like simply reading about the history because you feel inspired from the movie that you watched. Anything will do. As soon as it gave you a positive impact, you can go on extreme activities which you can incorporate on a monthly basis such as:

It should be something that you’re really curious to do so that the chance of being consistent will be high. Let’s just say this strategy is the ice breaker of your day. Rather than being pressured by the task you need to do, these activities will help you to feel more energize.

It is important to do a task in line with your goals because that’s the only way for you to achieve something. Even if you just take a baby step closer to it, it will still make a big impact later on. I’d been sharing in my blog how big goals can be attained by means of breaking it down to smaller ones. Once you come up with a weekly goal for you to achieve your monthly goals, you need to keep in mind the necessary task you need to incorporate for it. This method is applicable in any of your goals. Whether it’s finances, personal growth, mental health etc. as long as you set it right, you can come up in a certain routine that would be fit for your targets.

Few examples of it are:

Being productive doesn’t always mean being busy all the time.  The most important thing that you need to consider is if you’re happy while doing it and if you’re fulfilled in the end. Always remind yourself that all the choices that you have in life should reflect positively on your future.

Don’t just jump into a plan without reviewing it. You need to know what plan fit for you or else you’ll just end up failing. Making a draft of your routine will help you to assess the things that can fit in your schedule. If ever you’re a full-time employee or a mother, there’s a certain task that you can only incorporate in your schedule. That’s why it is important to make a draft for you to simply make an adjustment if its necessary to do so. You can also try doing your routine for a week and make an adjustment for the next week. To give you some ideas, here are some daily routines that you can use:

Like in these two samples, you can change anything you want based on your priorities. If you already get used to it, you can easily adjust or incorporate new things in your daily life. What important here is you just need to take the initiative to make this plan work. If you’ll take for granted the effort you put through in making this plan, you’ll just fail sooner or later. You need to be very determined to make all of this work. Just remember that you’re the only one who can make this happen. Don’t let another year be wasted once again.

If you keep things in your mind, the tendency is you’ll forget it later on. The best strategy that I’m currently doing right now is to print out or write in my journal everything. By doing that, it would remind me what I need to do for the day and the same time it will help me to assess my progress. I usually put it in my room specifically in places where I can always read it. I’d been doing it since before I can prove that it’s way more effective than not having one. If you’re the type who don’t know how to make a simple layout of your routine or to-do-list, you can simply make a print out of it in some websites. To give you an idea, I also shared it in my other blog they sample layout that you can also use:

Seven Simple Goal Setting Tips!

Setting goals is one of the vital things that will determine your future? How? Because it will give you a direction which you will learn to be a better version of yourself. The constant planning and making targets will provide you an access to the life that you’re dreaming. With the right approach and method,…

Here are also some sample for your reference:

You can just simply write down all of your task and priorities for the day in each blank then place it where you can easily see it (preferably in your room).

Now that you’re determined to aim for a productive day, you should have thought by now the importance of doing it. This is not just a mere activity but it can change your life big time. Anything that requires efforts and hard work will always provides you a life lesson. Don’t miss an opportunity and start it by valuing your time now. You will never be young and sooner or later you’ll realized the things that really matter in life.

It is very important to keep a track of your performance. Doing this will give you an idea on things that you need to improve so you can make time to work on it. Anything that requires effort should be properly assess in the end. This is the only way for you to know if it’s worth it in the long run or not.  Like how a company put an effort to hear their customer’s feedback for them to improve their services and products, you should also do it for yourself. This just shows how important the feedback and assessment to our lives. Not like how corporate do it, you don’t need to have a thorough report for you see your progress. You can simply check the current status of your goals by writing what you did for the whole week. You can make an illustration which you can easily get an idea online or whatever method that suits you.
